The Arts
Developing skills far beyond the classroom
Performing Arts at Holy Trinity Catholic Primary School includes music, drama, dance and instrumental focus.
Visual Arts
The Visual Arts program at Holy Trinity provides students with the opportunity to express themselves creatively, learn about various art styles and develop critical thinking and problem solving skills. Students explore their creativity using a variety of art skills and techniques through a range of materials.
All students visit a well equipped Visual Arts space once a week for an hour lesson with a specialist teacher. The students are introduced to the works, techniques and styles of well known artists from different times and cultures to gain inspiration for their own artworks.
The Visual Arts room is open during lunchtime once a week for Art Club for students who love the opportunity to create. These sessions are led by the Year 6 Visual Arts Captains along with the Visual Arts teacher.
Student artwork is on display and decorates our school. It is further celebrated biennially at the Holy Trinity Art Show where the students proudly showcase their work to our community. The annual Melbourne Archdiocese Catholic Schools Creative Arts Exhibition is another opportunity to submit our students’ artworks for selection.
Performing Arts
Choir:
We have a vibrant and enthusiastic choir with students from Prep to Year 6. The Choir meet once a week during lunch time and perform at events during the year including Christmas Carols and School Masses. They also perform at the School performance.
Ukulele Band:
On Wednesday at lunch time the Ukulele Band meet. This group is available for all students who have a passion for music and want to have fun!
School Production:
Every second year, the Performing Arts Program culminates in a whole school performance where every student performs in a large theatre. In this production the students have the opportunity to refine their dancing and singing skills and share them in a professional theatre for a wider audience. It is an opportunity to showcase their talents and an incredible opportunity for students to take to a real stage.
School Tuition:
At Holy Trinity, there is also a choice of tuition opportunities in musical instruments. These opportunities are undertaken during school time and give students the choice to specialise in their area. Tuition is run by Metro Music during school hours and is an additional cost.
